Physicians’ Primary Care of Southwest Florida is a premier physician owned and managed primary care practice with locations in Cape Coral, Fort Myers, and Lehigh Acres. We are seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join our family division team in Cape Coral. Hours are Monday-Friday, Day Shift.
Sample of Responsibilities:
- Review and process prescription requests from patients and those sent electronically from pharmacies.
- Follow refill protocol as set by the practice.
- Works closely with providers and pharmacies to answer any questions/discrepancies in medications.
- Perform medication prior authorizations.
- Counsel patients regarding medications as requested by physicians.
- Stays current with knowledge of medications (brand vs generic), doses and delivery methods (tables, creams, topical).
Minimum Requirements:
- A certification/registration from an accredited program for Pharmacy Technician.
- Great attention to detail and the ability to record information accurately.
- Knowledge of patient education principles to develop a self-care program.
- Knowledge of medications and side effects.
- Skill in administering a variety of medications as directed.
- CPR certification or ability to obtain upon hire.
