Personal Care Technician - Madison Job at Integrity Residential Services, Inc.

The PCT provides direct support in-home services to one or more residents with intellectual and/or physical disabilities by promoting choice, personal growth, and independence in their homes and community. Overall, the PCT is expected to provide activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs).
PCT may work under the supervision of the Personal Care Technician-Advanced, and/or the House Manager / Case Manager. Also, the PCT position will be required to work weekend shifts. The specific job duties for the PCT are designed around the needs of each individual resident and may be modified as the needs of the resident change.

Essential Functions:
Provide instruction and assistance in daily activities and routines such as:

  • Maintain healthy and professional boundaries with resident and staff
  • May provide for transportation of resident
  • Meal planning and preparation
  • Personal care and appearance (e.g. bathing, toileting, transferring, dressing and exercising).
  • Passing medications accurately
  • Maintain a clean and orderly home environment (e.g. assisting residents in the completion of laundry and household cleaning).
  • Provide problem-solving assistance and companionship
  • Accompany the resident into the community to engage in recreational activities and doctor appointments.
  • Maintain records and documentation in the home
  • Ability to work effectively with team
  • Ability to work independently and remain organized and efficient
  • Participation in job-related trainings, house meetings and supervisory meetings as scheduled
  • Assist individuals to develop and expand participation in typical community activities and build relationships with family, friends and neighbors
  • Comply with HIPAA Privacy Act by protecting confidential resident information
  • All other duties as assigned

  • Fluent in American Sign Language (preferred but not required)

Physical Requirements

  • Must have a good mobility (e.g. bend, lift, stand, walk, etc.)
  • Must have the ability to lift-up to 50 pounds

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or Equivalent
  • Prefer one year of relevant personal care experience

Additional Qualifications

  • Must be able to satisfy the post offer requirements (i.e. Wisconsin Caregiver Background, medical screenings, and pre-employment drug screening)
  • Some placements may have required use of a personal or company vehicle to transport resident as needed. All roles requiring driving require a valid driver license and insurance

Sign-on Bonus
Opportunity for $500 bonus at 90 day review and again at 6 month review.
