The People + Culture (P+C) Generalist’s primary purpose is to provide comprehensive day-to-day People support for our organization. The role, reporting directly to the HR Manager, is responsible for the administration and maintenance of our people data, including data entry and ongoing quarterly and annual auditing to ensure data integrity and HR compliance. The P+C Generalist will also look for continuous ways to improve processes in the areas of recruitment, performance management, benefits and payroll, and company policy enforcement while helping to ensure that Ubiquity’s employees are happy and engaged at work.
Core Responsibilities
- Update and maintain our company HRIS system, Paylocity, with all people changes
- Prepare and facilitate payroll processing bi-monthly using Paylocity
- Act as main point of contact for all background checks and verifications of employment
- Act as subject matter expert for P+C standard operating procedures creation and updating
- Regularly maintain Company organizational chart
- Lead 15Five adoption, provide metrics reporting to people leaders, and lead the administrative portion of the performance review process quarterly
- Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions utilizing the SmartRecruiters platform
- Assist in employee onboarding + offboarding processes via Basecamp, Salesforce Tech Access, Paylocity and 15Five
- Create all new hire offer letters, internal promotion and transfer letters
- Communicate important HR updates to all employees during weekly Vital Factors meetings, Quarterly Company Meetings, Reimagine, and with company-wide emails
- Host employee engagement opportunities and events to ensure our UBQTs are happy and healthy
- Handle employment-related inquires from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff
- Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations when appropriate
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in HR, talent management, and state and federal employment law
- Maintain, follow, and enforce all Ubiquity security policies and procedures at all times. (Policies will be shared with all employees annually. Employees can request a copy of most recent policies from Ubiquity’s Security Officer at any time.)
- Perform other duties as assigned
Competencies
HR knowledge: Knowledge of HR state and federal compliance, benefits, and labor laws
Integrity: Takes personal responsibility for the quality, accuracy, and timeliness of work, and achieves results with little oversight
Communication: Presents information clearly, concisely, and logically, through verbal and written communication in a friendly and professional way. Comfortable with public speaking and providing training in different ways to accommodate different styles of learning
Empathy: Ability to handle and maintain a high level of confidentiality and sensitivity when conveying employee information and news
Organizing: Identifies potential solutions that are practical and effective, and follows through with the solutions you offer. Creates processes to streamline different tasks
Skills + Experience
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
- PHR/SHRM certification is preferred but not required
- Have a proven track record (2 – 4 years) of Human Resources experience
- Payroll experience preferred but not required
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and creative problem solving
- Advanced project management skills
