The Payroll Analyst will:
- Support the Sr. Payroll Analyst by assisting with managing the ongoing processes for payroll operations, as well as optimizing quality, effectiveness, and execution of payroll operations.
- Help maintain and support business applications used for Payroll operations.
- Support audits, acquisitions, and special projects.
- Coordination of certified payroll administration
- Provide assistance to reconciliation of the general ledger
- Process payroll deductions and adjustments
- Work closely with internal partners to resolve payroll issues
- Helps manage the operations of all documentation and administration of prevailing wage and certified payroll reporting, ensuring legal compliance of all federal, state and local laws
- Establish, review and report on the prevailing wage rates and fringe metrics
- Will view and crate reports through Kronos and Workday reporting
- Responsible for completing and submitting government regulated certified payroll forms in adherence with state and federal guidelines
- Assist in the process of any OCIP, CCIP, TCIP adjustments required by client per executed contracts. Reporting to agencies verification of contract values and hours worked, relative to the specifics of contract OCIP, CCIP, TCIP wording
- Resolve payroll tax inquiries and issues
- Partner with Tax Services vendor to ensure compliance with state and local agencies
- Assist with payroll deduction processing including taxes, benefit deductions, garnishments, union dues, charitable contributions
- Partner effectively with HR, IT, Finance and other functions to ensure appropriate flow of data and reporting
- Support financial reporting analysis and query development for tax management, labor reporting and ad-hoc requests
- Provide necessary support to implementation of acquisitions and divestitures
- Continuously review, update, and create communication channels
- Maintain required payroll information by designing efficient record keeping systems
- Create and maintain department Work Instructions
Job Requirements:
- This individual will primarily be supporting the Sr. Payroll Analyst and pushing data from point A to point B.
- MUST HAVE: Some background in payroll - preferably 4-5 years with the bulk of their foundation being in payroll.
- MUST HAVE: Advanced Excel Experience (Vlookups, Pivot Tables)
- Must be able to independently work in a remote setting with little to no guidance
- Workday and/or Kronos experience preferred
- Experience with HR systems query building and reporting
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Must have effective decision-making/critical thinking skills
- Ability to collaborate, consult and partner with all levels and work well in a team environment
- Excellent interpersonal communications (verbal and written)
- Ability to multi-task, act with a sense of urgency and produce results.
- Strong working knowledge of applicable federal, state and local rules and laws
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Ability to provide excellent customer service
