Skills and Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of payment posting process in billing office environment preferred
  • Proficient in Windows based application and MS Office software products
  • Understanding of medical billing terminology and insurance laws/guidelines preferred, but trainable
  • Customer service driven
  • Strong interpersonal skills that result in good relationships with key stakeholders
  • Self-motivation with a willingness to learn and grow with the organization

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum two years of related experience as a payment poster in a healthcare billing office and/or accounting experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as organizational and time management skills required to be successful.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepares all documentation for the payment posting staff to process payments
  • Uploads prepped documents to secure file server to be indexed for posting
  • Assists with the management and facilitation of payment batches as needed
  • Provides reconciliation staff with control numbers on the reconciliation
  • Acts as payment posting liaison for clinics and DocuTap
  • Identifies trends and carrier issues relating to billing and reimbursements before reporting findings to supervisor
  • Maintains patient confidence and protects medical office operations by keeping patient information confidential
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplished related results as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
