Patient Registration Clerk Job at Jones Memorial Hospital
Full-Time Registration Clerk/PBX Operator. This position will work as needed with a varied schedule of day and evening hours on weekdays/nights or weekends dependent on the needs of the department.
The main function of this position is to register patients in an efficient manner, following hospital policy and procedure, ensure that accurate patient information is obtained and keyed into the computer system and assist patients, families and all customers following the Quality Management Plan.
According to specified procedures, operate a console telephone switchboard in order to relay incoming, outgoing and inter-office calls. Perform various hospital communications and clerical duties. Act as hospital receptionist.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or equivalency, plus completion of a keyboarding and medical terminology course preferred. Basic computer skills are required, Word, Excel. If no medical terminology, must complete medical terminology course provided by the hospital. Three months in a healthcare field preferred.
