Pastoral Care Coordinator
Providing quality care since 2013, Mount Carmel Care Center, Inc. is a member of the Carmelite System and sponsored by the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm. A Faith-Based facility, Mount Carmel Care Center provides Long-Term and Short-Term care services in an environment committed to the Legacy of our Foundress, Mother M. Angeline Teresa, seeking to witness the healing ministry of Christ to all those entrusted to us. Our mission is central to all we do.
We are seeking to hire a Pastoral Care Coordinator - Part-Time.
** 20 Hours per week **
** The only Faith-Based Skilled Nursing Facility in Berkshire County **

Pastoral Care Coordinator Job Summary:
- Responsible for initial and ongoing assessment of each resident to determine his/her spiritual needs.
- Provide pastoral visits to residents and spiritual support to families and staff.
- Offer extra support to residents in the dying process and arranges hospitality carts for their families as needed.
- Arrange for Mass as often as possible and resident anointing on a bi-annual basis if possible.
- Develop spiritual programming for Roman Catholic residents such as communion services, communal rosary, Bible study.
- Arrange for visits by clergy of other faiths as requested by non- Catholic residents.
- Participate as Member of Ethics and QAPI Committees.
- Attend Care Plan meetings and morning report.
Pastoral Care Coordinator Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with some background in theology.
- Professional knowledge and understanding of the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Healthcare.
- Certified Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist and Lector.
- Proof of COVID19 Vaccination AND BOOSTER Required.
- Active member of a Roman Catholic parish, preferably in the Springfield, MA diocese.
- Experience in spiritual programming.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work with a team.
- Working computer knowledge.
