We are seeking a Part-Time Non-Commissioned (Unarmed) Security Officers in the north Houston area. The job will involve securing a truck terminal where trailers will be dropped off and staged for further shipping. Officers will be stationed in a trailer to control access and will conduct regular foot patrols around the lot to ensure that the trailers remain secured.

Our client is Aurora Innovation, a leader in developing self-driving technology. It is a very interesting environment, and the security team is treated very much as a full partner in the Aurora Team. This is a long-term contract so we are looking for experienced officers with at least a current Level II Certification, who are interested in long-term, stable employment. There will be future opportunities for advancements in pay and position as our client increases its footprint in the area. The pay rate for this position is $17.50 per hour.

Since our contract requires that we staff this post 24/7/365 and there are only a small number of officers to cover this post, there are very strict rules regarding call-offs. Therefor, only those who are reliable and willing to work should apply.

The open position is a 2 days per week, part-time Saturday & Sunday weekend shift, 11pm-7am, and we are looking to staff it immediately.
REQUIRED:

• High school diploma or GED

• Current Level II or Higher Guard Certification

• Valid driver’s license

• No history of felonies or other serious criminal convictions

• Willing to participate in the pre-employment process, including a drug screen and a criminal history check

• Must be articulate, with the ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing

• Have the ability to maintain strict attendance and punctuality standards

• Have a neat and professional appearance

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Have good near/far eyesight (corrected)

• Walking casually for 30 minutes without rest

• Standing for 1 hour without rest

PREFERRED:

• Previous customer service experience is a plus

• Previous military service is a plus

JOB DUTIES MAY INCLUDE, BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:

• Controlling access for a large, fenced lot

• Conducting outdoor foot patrol tours utilizing a cell phone-based tour system (provided by company)

• Identifying and reporting security breaches, safety hazards, maintenance issues or unusual/suspicious circumstances

• Generating various written reports and logs
