Part Time Medical Assistant Job at Purcell Dermatology
Description:
The part-time medical assistant is responsible for the overall support functions of running the medical practice. The position is on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 8:30am to 4:30pm. Duties are related to the efficient flow of the clinic, from patient rooming to assisting with medical procedures to patient scheduling and patient calls. Further description of duties are listed below.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Rooms patients
- Takes intake information, including review of allergies and medications
- Takes chief complaint and history of present illness
- Obtains patient consents for procedures
- Setting up and assisting physician with medical procedures
- Reviews instructions with patients
- Prepares and maintains exam rooms
- Maintains and tracks supply inventory
- Sterilizes medical instruments
- Takes and addresses patient calls, and answers basic patient questions regarding treatments, procedures, and diagnoses
- Assists with patient care coordination including calling patients with test results
- Assists with answering phones and scheduling patients
- Assists with patient check-in and check-out
- Maintains HIPAA compliance and complies with OSHA state and federal regulatory standards
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED, a registered or certified medical assistant. Basic knowledge of medical terminology. Electronic medical record experience preferred.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
