Paralegal (Remote) Job at Sutton National Group
JOB SUMMARY:
Sutton National Group, a rapidly growing national insurance carrier group seeks a Paralegal that will support corporate and contractual functions in various aspects of the business. Ideal candidates must be able to adapt quickly to a fast-paced collaborative environment. Important to be a driven and motivated problem solver ready to take an active role in the day-to-day execution of tasks and team support that corresponds with the Sutton Group's overall mission.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in drafting and reviewing corporate meeting minutes, resolutions, organizational documents, correspondence and memorandum with accuracy and attention to detail
- Assist in preparing and reviewing presentation materials for various company activities, including management, board, regulatory and shareholder meetings with accuracy and attention to detail
- Assist in drafting, reviewing and filing regulatory documents, including state insurance department filings, and other state and local law filings, with accuracy and attention to detail
- Assist in conducting and analyzing factual, legal and regulatory research on complex sensitive matters
- Assist with various corporate governance matters and management of entities including formations, qualifications, amendments, management changes, and maintenance of organizational documents and minute books
- Monitor and review relevant regulations, advise on regulatory changes, and support statutory and regulatory compliance efforts and corporate transactions and board and committee processes
- Assist in drafting, reviewing, and amendment of agreements for general agents, claims administrators and reinsurers.
- Manage the tracking and internal filing of all draft and executed agreements and manage the internal tracking tool for contracts under review, negotiation, renewal and amendment.
- Maintain a key contractual term overview for all contractual relationships and develop processes and procedures for activities in the Legal Department.
- Establish effective working relationships with all levels of the organization
- Assist as needed on special projects and other matters related to the Office of the President and of the Vice President of Legal.

- Ability to effectively multitask and prioritize to meet simultaneous deadlines
- Poise and maturity to work directly with senior executives inside and outside the Company
- Ability to maintain a high-level of professionalism and strict confidentiality, as appropriate
- Ability to interpret and understand legal documents
- Ability to maintain an enthusiastic and positive attitude in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
- Excellent interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree required
- Minimum 3 years relevant experience, preferably in insurance or project management
CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES
- Insurance or Paralegal designations preferred
