Pain Management Physician Assistant - San Mateo, California

Compensation - $160,000-$175,000 per year

About the job:

The job is for a client and it is located in San Mateo, California. As a physician assistant specializing in pain management, you examine patients to identify the source of their suffering and create a treatment strategy to lessen the impact of the pain and enable them to resume as much of their regular activities as feasible.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Promotes and maintains patient health by providing medical services under the supervision of a physician.
• Work under the direction of a fellowship-trained pain physician.
• Think about, and work toward both a long term plan for each patient while attending to immediate, visit specific needs.
• Interview, and examine patients; review outside studies and medical histories.
• Treating a wide variety of patients with musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, and pain disorders,
• Performing trigger point, joint, nerve, and soft tissue injections.
• Reading X-rays, MRIs, CT scans, and other imaging.
• Document patient care services on the day of service.
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and participating in professional societies.

Qualifications:

• Must have a current California license, be a graduate of an approved PA program, and be certified by the appropriate credentialing body.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a physician assistant
• 1 year of experience in Pain Management preferred
• Active DEA license without restrictions.
• Must have a current California license.
• Experience with Worker’s Comp a plus
• Able to work in San Mateo, Oakland, San Francisco, Pinole, or Sacramento offices
