Order Selector Job Summary

The Order Selector will select items for order fulfillment and prepare pallets for shipment with particular attention given to accuracy, speed, quality and safety. This is a material handling, labor intensive job which processes work orders in the warehouse by manually selecting products from designated locations and palletizing them. Once orders are built, they are shrink wrapped and staged in designated areas for loading. Possessing considerable strength and endurance, the Order Selector must also possess sensory capabilities to avoid accidents as warehouse environment involves fast moving forklifts and power jack equipment.

Essential Functions

• Select customer orders from pick clots using printed pick lists or assorted items; build orders in sequence provided.
• Complete pre-shift and post-shift equipment inspections according to OSHA Standards.
• Perform various post-shift duties that include, but are not limited to clearing aisles of all debris, returning pallet jack to charging area, and connecting riding jack for battery charging. Clean up any spills and place damaged product in recoup area.

• Comply with all Federal, state and local food safety regulations and all relevant company food safety policies and procedures.

Working Conditions

• Primarily set in a refrigerated warehouse environment where temperatures are 35-45 degrees Fahrenheit.
• Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn in all environments to include steel-toed shoes and a safety vest.

• Primarily standing work, exerting up to 50 lbs. of force frequently.

• Constantly required to walk, stand, move, and turn with multi-limb coordination.

Schedule

• Shift starts at 5:30pm. Shift end time is based on when work is completed.
• Typically 5 days - Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Six (6) months of warehouse/order picking experience preferred.
• Six (6) months experience operating powered moving equipment, such as a forklift, rider jack and lift truck preferred.
• Clean safety record required.
• Able to communicate effectively.
• Experience using Radio Frequency (RF) scanners a plus.
• Able to understand basic correspondence, instructions, rules, policies, graphs, and/or charts.
• Able to perform basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) and use basic numeric concepts (whole numbers, percentages) to complete job tasks. Able to make reasonable estimates of arithmetic results without a calculator.
