Epsilon Systems Solutions, Inc. is seeking a full time Optical Repair Shop Support Technician II in San Diego, CA.
Job Summary: Under supervision, provide in-shop troubleshooting, repair, overhaul, installation, alignment, modifying, and testing on ships’ optical equipment, including:
A. Mark 8 Mod 0 Alidades
B. Mark 6 Mod 0 Alidades
C. Mark 3 Mod 4/5 Ship Binoculars
D. Mark 5 Binocular Carriage Assembly
E. AN/PVS-8, AN/PVS-18 and AN/PVS-12A Night Vision Goggles
F. Stadimeters
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Disassembles, cleans, inspects, and assesses parts and components to determine the extent of wear and damage in justification of recommendations for reuse or disposal of assemblies, components and parts.
- Assists Government personnel in tracking required materials and parts required for repairs and overhauls of optical equipment.
- Follows requirements and procedures in FWPs.
- Reads, understands, and works to the requirements of ship drawings, equipment technical manuals, and blueprints.
- Utilizes standard mechanic’s tools, torque wrenches, portable machine tools, and various gauges in the repair, assembly, installation, and testing of components or sub-assemblies.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 year experience
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DBIDS
- Ability to pass PQS 301 Craftsmen qualifications
- Sound interpersonal skills
- Basic computer skills
- Experienced in the use of basic hand tools
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2 years’ experience in the use and repair of optical equipment.
ADA Notations:
- Ability to lift, carry, and transport heavy equipment and boxes up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to perform other duties as required which may involve high heat, humidity, noise and dirty conditions
