Operations Supervisor Jackson Job at Granger Waste Services

ACCOUNTABILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Operations Supervision
· Management of front-load drivers and cart delivery/boom drivers
· Owning the responsibilities for the end of the day by ensuring all routes are able to safely return to transfer station, connect with drivers and set next day’s schedule based on staffing levels
· Backfill residential, commercial, transfer and maintenance supervision when needed
· Cover phones as needed to take driver calls, resolve problems, send help, address customer calls and take other needed actions to resolve issues
· Support route completion by monitoring route trucks using routing software
· Perform quarterly observations and performance reviews, provide feedback to drivers and help propose opportunities for coaching and development
· Support quality pre/post trip efforts, documentation and coaching as needed
Maintenance Support
· Work with mechanics at night to ensure write ups are properly completed and there are enough trucks to run all routes the next day
· Receive all parts for maintenance facility accurately and timely
· Label every applicable part with a bar code and place in bin location
· Review mechanic work orders to ensure labor and parts are billed correctly
· Submit Core returns to the appropriate vendor following Core procedure from purchasing department
· Inspect all bulk fluids, oils and parts, manually charging out used items/fluids on a weekly basis
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
· Associates degree or equivalent from two‑year college or technical school preferred
· Related experience working in the transportation or equipment maintenance field, with supervisory and administrative duties strongly preferred
· Mechanic knowledge and prior experience working on diesel trucks and heavy equipment preferred
· Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365 software, including Word, Excel, Outlook, OneDrive, Teams, One Note and Planner
· Prior experience working with fleet management software preferred
