Responsibilities
The Operating Room Tech is responsible for the turnover of rooms in the surgical suite, and assists in the preparation of surgical cases under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Turnover includes cleaning the Operating Room.
- Clean rooms and surgical equipment in between surgical cases following hospital policy
- Responsible for putting away general supplies when delivered from the storage room and restocking surgical packs from the storage room
- Prepare OR table for procedures under the direction of the RN based on the type of procedure
- Collect and deliver specimens to the lab throughout the day and as directed according to the hospital specimen handling policy
- Assist in positioning patient as directed by the RN professional or physician
- Assist the OR team in transporting patients to and from the operating room as needed
- Responsible for unpacking and restocking OR general supplies when delivered including oxygen and other gas tanks, blanket warmers, cleaning supplies, and OR core supplies as directed
Qualifications
What You’ll Bring
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year experience in an hospital setting; OR setting preferred
