The Oregon State Police in Salem, Oregon is hiring for one (1) Full-Time, Permanent Office Specialist 2 positions.

What will you do?

In this position you will use Niche RMS system to analyze law enforcement data gathered by Oregon State Police officers to preform crime reporting duties mandated by both state and federal law. You will use independent judgement to review each incident on a case-by-case basis to determine how the crime data elements should be reported in accordance with the Oregon National Incident Based Reporting Systems (O-NIBRS), the National Incident Based Reporting System (NIBRS), and Department statical codes. This information is provided to Law Enforcement Systems (LEDS), is ultimately utilized by all criminal justice agencies throughout the state and eventually become a part of the Federal (NIBRS) nationwide crime reporting repository formerly known as the Uniform Crime Reporting system (UCR)
You will perform data quality management in the Niche RMS. You will also review data for accuracy, formatting and other errors, and use independent judgment to determine appropriate corrective action.

Minimum Qualifications (these must be addressed in your resume for full consideration):
Two years of general clerical experience, one year of which included typing, word processing, or other experience generating documents; OR

An Associate degree; OR
Graduation from a private school of business with a certificate AND one year of general clerical experience.
Note: If you are selected to move forward in the selection process, you must provide official transcripts from all institutions of higher education that were used in the award of your degree.
Preferred Skills (these must be addressed in your cover letter for full consideration):
  • Ability to handle high volume workload with deadlines and frequent interruptions.
  • High attention to detail with low error rates.
  • Experience using a data base to enter and retrieve confidential information.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team as well as independently.

The salary listed is the non-PERS (Public Employee Retirement System) qualifying salary range. If the successful candidate is PERS qualifying, the salary range will reflect an additional 6.95%. Please review the
