What You'll Do

The Human Resource Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department, including talent acquisition, onboarding, administering benefits, employee relations, employee performance, offboarding, and enforcing company policies and practices. The HR Generalist will work with internal teams on orientation, performance management, culture initiatives, and travel coordination. This role is intrinsically linked to Parachute's donor-centric mission and you will have an opportunity to be a part of and lead an agile, passionate, and fast-growing team.

Purpose:
The Office Manager is responsible for the day-to-day administrative support of the corporate headquarters. The Office Manager reports to the VP of Facilities and Construction as part of the Facilities Department.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates all administrative activities for the corporate headquarters, including but not limited to, management of the corporate office, including greeting visitors, answering phone calls, workstation management, ordering office supplies and coordinating safety training activities.
  • Receive and sort incoming mail and deliveries and manage outgoing mail. Supervises the maintenance of office equipment, including copier, fax machines, refrigerators, TV's, etc.
  • Manages the reception area to ensure effective telephone and mail communications, both internally and externally, to maintain a professional image.
  • Supervises the maintenance and alteration of office areas and equipment, as well as layout, arrangement, seating plan and housekeeping of office facilities.
  • Provides administrative support for the inventory, purchase of office supplies and furniture, office equipment, etc., for the corporate headquarters staff in accordance with company purchasing policies and budgetary restrictions.
  • Leads, plans, and executes monthly and annual company culture events.
  • Manages programs that focus on promoting employee appreciation and recognition.
  • Supports the Executive Team as needed.
  • Supports the Facilities Team with day-to-day operations of the corporate headquarters as well as: Locating new vendors, ordering parts, supplies, and materials. Ensures that service contracts are renewed prior to expiration dates. Maintains associated insurance documents.
  • Provide other administrative support as necessary, including scheduling group meetings, maintaining calendars, doing research, and creating reports.
  • May occasionally be requested to work after/modified hours on special projects or events.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Ability to work under pressure; meet inflexible deadlines; set priorities; deal diplomatically with difficult individuals; supervise others.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint.
  • Must have exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to manage multiple work orders and/or projects concurrently.
  • Demonstrated customer service and communication skills.
  • The ability to work cooperatively in small and large groups.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, communications, or a related fieldpreferred.
  • Minimum three years' experience in a fast-paced office environment.
  • Preferably in the Officed Management, Facilities Management, or Property Management.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • This position will be based in the Austin, Texas, corporate headquarters
  • Frequently performs work while sitting in front of a computer
  • Position is mainly sedentary work (office work) but on occasion may include lifting and moving items.
  • Movements frequently and regularly required using wrists, hands and/or fingers
  • May involve exposure to noise, dust, fumes, dangerous machinery, chemicals, falling objects, and aggressive verbal and physical behavior from donors.
