Office Administrator

General Job Description:

Overhead Door Company of Cortland is currently seeking a qualified applicant for an opening in our Cortland, NY location.

Day to day activities include, but are not limited to, answering phones, writing work orders, scheduling jobs for technicians and sales people, bookkeeping, and providing exceptional customer service.

The ideal candidate should be professional, friendly, have previous experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Intuit QuickBooks and exceptional written and verbal communication skills. The ability to adapt and work as an integral part of a team is a must.

Training specific to our industry will be provided.

Work hours are Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM with an opportunity for overtime available.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Customer Service
  • Answer multi-line telephone system and respond to direct requests for information
  • Assist customers at the sales counter with replacement parts, accessories, and new doors and/or openers
  • Write up work orders and estimate requests
  • Quote prices on residential garage doors, garage door openers and residential screens
  • Telephone and email correspondence with customers
  • Assist with the scheduling of service calls and installations
  • Bookkeeping
  • Invoice completed work
  • Enter customer payments
  • Assist with sales tax returns
  • Other bookkeeping duties as assigned
  • Other administrative duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to multi-task and work without direction at times
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • QuickBooks experience a plus
  • Notary Public License a plus
