This position has a Sign on Bonus of $2500. It is paid in three increments, $500 after completion of first therapy session, $1000 after six months and $1000 after a year of employment!

Job Summary:
Therapy coordinator will manage and mentor Occupational Therapy team members. Coordinator will also provide support to certified occupational therapist assistants (COTA). Therapy coordinator will work to enhance training opportunities, provide administrative leadership and expertise to all disciplines designed area. This position will also be responsible for providing direct care for consumers.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Responsible for providing specialized orientation as outlined in the Therapy Coordinators checklist.
  • Assist and collaborate with Director of Rehabilitation Services on team member assignments, as needed.
  • Mentor new and current therapists as it relates to correct documentation procedures, therapeutic approaches and/or other activities related to consumer services.
  • Provide ongoing mentoring to new employees until efficient with Minds Matter OT procedures, protocols, documentation requirements and understanding of treatment strategies.
  • Maintain, review and turn in all documentation at assigned times.
  • Review and provided feedback when needed to discipline specific staff on initial evaluations, reevaluations, progress notes, and transition summaries.
  • Conduct annual reviews for the respective therapy department.
  • Educate families about the consequences of brain injury and communicate with them about goals and progress as needed.
  • Attend trainings and workshops to maintain ability to provide the most up to date, effective and evidence-based practice.
  • Organize and maintain discipline specific CEU program.
  • Provide tips and techniques to team members regarding effective documentation.
  • Be knowledgeable of departmental goals and objectives. Take an active role in helping the department to attain goals.
  • Coordinate supervision meeting with therapy coordinator as needed to review individual cases and departmental objectives/needs.
  • Assist therapist in goal setting at initial evaluation/assessment and ongoing as you work with consumers and their goals change.
  • Review available job openings and therapy hours available with Director of Rehab and HR consistently to assist with occupational therapy hiring process.
  • Participate in regular monthly meetings including Coordinators Q&A.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

Education and Experience

  • Associates' Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program or Bachelore's degree in Occupational Therapy required.
  • Must have and maintain a license from the state of Kansas.
  • Must have a minimum of two (2) years experience or more as a COTA or OTR/L required.
  • Some management experience preferred.
