Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist to provide services to children and their families from ages 0-18. This is a unique opportunity to join a small, growing private practice and help develop our OT program! This position will start as a contract position with the ability to transition to part time or full time, if desired. In addition to providing direct services, our therapists also help families learn how to care for and play with their children in ways that encourage emerging skills. The ideal candidate will be independent, able to work collaboratively and earn trust quickly, while maintaining a focus on our overall mission.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and treat patients with acute and chronic occupational therapy needs, including but not limited to neurological, neuromuscular, developmental delay, pervasive disorders, sensory processing difficulties, feeding difficulties, cognitive impairments, and orthopedic injuries
  • Produce evaluation results, progress reports, discharge reports, and daily notes in a timely manner
  • Create and implement treatment plan of care with short and long term goals tailored to meet the individual needs of the child and facilitate increased paricipation and independence in meaningful daily occupations
  • Educate and demonstrate therapy techniques to parents that can be incorporated into a home program
  • Maintain communication with child primary physician through progress reports or other communication measures
  • May participate in community education and outreach programs
  • Assist in developing strategic and long-range plan for the program

Requirements

  • Occupational Therapy degree from an accredited school
  • 3+ years of experience in pediatrics preferred
  • Currently registered and licensed by the State of Texas
  • Completion of a pediatric affiliation/internship or pediatric experience preferred
  • Ability to participate in floor activities
  • Working knowledge and use of assessment tools used in the evaluation of infants and children
  • Successful completion of a clear background check
  • Strong references
  • Able to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification
  • Must possess valid Texas State Driver’s License, automobile insurance, and a reliable means of transportation
  • Willingness to travel to patient homes (estimated 50-75% of caseload)
  • Current knowledge of treatment practices in OT and drive to continually learn and grow in the profession
  • Current knowledge of applicable billing procedural codes (CPTs) related to OT practice

Pay: $42.00 - $48.00 per hour
