Lincoln Medical Center is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our Hospitalist program in a full-time position.

The basic purpose of this position is to serve as a mid-level provider in the provision of in-patient and/or out-patient medical services; assists and provides services to hospital in activities pertaining to risk management; adheres to laws, regulations, hospital by-laws, LMC policies/procedures, licensure requirements and ethical standards as they pertain to the practice of medicine; works closely with case managers and medical staff to improve quality of care.

Essential Functions:

• Provides continuous high quality medical services to patients admitted to the Hospitalist Service, and/or throughout the hospital; recommends, participates in, and actively works to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness of care provided to patients in the Hospitalist service and overall facility.
• Accepts patient referrals from physicians and other Advanced Practice Registered Nurses. Works with patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on needs of patients, medical staff and hospital; dictates history and physical, discharge summary, or consult note as outlined in LMC policies.
• Develops collaborative relationships across the continuum of care; coordinates discharge planning with case manager for admitted patients.
• Evaluates patients in regard to discharge or admission in order to improve the flow of patients.

• Attends all required safety training programs and can describes responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, and specific job‑related hazards.

• Sunday - Saturday
• 5:00 p.m. - 5:00 a.m.

Nurse Practitioner (NP) Hospitalist Qualifications & Skills:

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
• State of Tennessee licensure (or eligible) as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse
• Two (2) or more years of experience in in-patient medicine preferred
