Founded in 1968 to meet the post-secondary and continuing education needs of Cecil County residents, Cecil College has been serving the community and shaping its future for more than 50 years. The College is governed by a Board of Trustees appointed by the governor. The College’s fifth president, Dr. Mary Way Bolt, reports directly to the Board of Trustees.
Cecil College is centrally located in Maryland’s most northeastern county, just one half mile from Interstate 95. It is easily accessible from Philadelphia and Baltimore, as well as from Wilmington, Delaware.
With a diverse student population, Cecil College enrolls approximately 2,500 credit students and 3,400 non-credit students. Cecil offers associate degrees, certificate programs and non-credit classes. Cecil offers a variety of associate degree and certificate programs.

The Disability Support and Wellness Center (DSWC) seeks individuals to serve as class notetakers for students with a disability related need for such services.
Role Needed
- Notetaker
Days and Times
- Need for a notetaker will vary from semester to semester
- Varied - Will occur during accommodated student’s scheduled class time(s)
- May require evening or weekend hours depending on class schedule(s)
Required Qualifications
- Fluent in English
- Proficient typing skills
- Legible handwriting
- Reliable and prompt
- Strong listening skills
- Ability to take organized and complete notes
- Proficient with navigating web-based systems, or ability to learn quickly:
- Knowledge of Glean, or strong ability to learn how to use Glean (notetaking app)
- Knowledge of Accommodate, or strong ability to learn how to use Accommodate (to upload notes)
- If applicant is a current student (peer notetaker), they must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0
Responsibilities and Duties
- The Notetaker Will:
- Arrive promptly to all scheduled assignments
- Take notes in the format needed by the accommodated student
- Ensure notes are legible, clear, and organized
- Maintain confidentiality at all times
- Distribute notes via the agreed upon method within 24 hours of class
- Provide advanced notice of any absences
- Other duties as assigned
- The Notetaker Will Not:
- Provide assistance outside the scope of notetaking unless approved by position supervisor(s)
