JOB TITLE:

Program Director, Child Care (Afterschool/Day Camp) – North Georgia

JOB DETAILS:

The YMCA of Metropolitan Chattanooga is looking for a Child Care Program Director (Afterschool/Day Camp) in North Georgia! This position will assist in developing, organizing, and implementing high-quality YMCA program(s) with a heavy emphasis on childcare (afterschool and day camp) in and around Dade, Walker, and Catoosa County.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Directs and supervises program activities to meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives in the areas of childcare (day camp and after school) and teen programming.
• Recruits hires, trains, develops, schedules, and directs personnel and volunteers as needed. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
• Establishes new program activities and expands programs within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
• Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information; organizes and schedules program registrations. May review and process program scholarship applications.
• Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations and administrators at school-based afterschool locations.
• Develops and monitors program budget to meet fiscal objectives.
• Coordinates use of facilities for program activities and events.
• Communicates with parents of program participants.
• Ensures compliance with program standards and all state, local, and YMCA health and safety regulations.
• Assists in YMCA fundraising activities and special events.
• Models’ relationship-building skills (including Listen First) in all interactions. Responds to all member and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
• Participates in Program Management Team meetings.
• Compiles program statistics. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation
  in the program
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent.
• One to two years of related experience preferred.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all community social and economic segments.
• New staff orientation required upon hire.
• YMCA Team Leader certification preferred.
• CPR, First Aid, AED, and O2 required within 30 days of hire.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Sufficient strength, agility, and mobility to perform essential functions and supervise program activities in a wide variety of indoor and outdoor locations (depending upon the programs).
