Part-Time Non-Profit Accountant
Location : Remote
1099 Contractor : 8 month contract with option to extend
Hourly Rate: $25/hr
Hours : 3-8/week **hours may vary based on the needs of the business
Non-profit located in Westchester County is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper to help with tax filings, expense reimbursements, general account bookkeeping and tax consultation. Candidates should have an understanding of non-profits in NY and the tax paperwork required to be filed for both setup and maintenance.
Responsibilities
Reconcile bank and credit card transactions
Handle accounts receivable and accounts payable
Manage online accounts
Keep record of receipts
Ensure proper 990 filing and manage non-profit status
Work with CPA and assist with tax compliance
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
3-5 years relevant experience working in accounting and bookkeeping
Experience bookkeeping for non-profits
Preferred experience with NY non-profits
Experience with non-profit tax paperwork including setup & maintenance filings
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proficient skills in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
