Perimeter Behavioral Hospital of New Orleans is one of the premier behavioral health hospitals providing inpatient psychiatric treatment for adults over the age of 18. We provide comprehensive care that is designed for the individual. Located in Kenner, La.

Our Mental Health Technician responsibilities include some of the following:

• Care for our patients daily by obtaining vital signs, assessing their behavior, escorting them, and interacting with them continuously throughout the shift.
• Conduct direct observation rounds during assigned shift and document patient’s behavior.
• Model and teach appropriate life skills to the patients.
• Orient the patients to the unit and assist them with the discharge process too.
• Assist them with verbal de-escalation when they are agitated.
• Provide a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment.

Please apply if you have the following qualifications:

• Education: High School Degree or equivalent preferred; Certified Nurse Assistant preferred; or degree from an accredited college or university in social work, recreational therapy or appropriate therapeutic discipline preferred.
• Experience: At least one (1) year of related experience in a hospital setting with psychiatric experience preferred or (1) year experience as a Corpsman in the Military.
• Additional Requirements: Successful completion of CPR and Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 30 days of employment
• Schedule: Seeking FT and PRN – Day and Nights Shifts
