Medical Receptionist for LASIK Practice (bi-lingual)
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- ** Front desk medical assistant for multiple location medical center – must be bi-lingual and willing to travel.(This is a fulltime position if applicant is willing to travel between these two offices or part time if not willing to travel). Must be bilingual (Spanish/English) as you will be engaging with patients who prefer to speak Spanish.
- Maintains daily operation of medical front desk office by scheduling patients; performing check-in duties; answering phones; maintaining files.
- Must be charismatic, extraordinarily friendly, energetic and outgoing, work independently, punctual, able to receive and implement feedback.
- Welcomes patients and visitors by greeting patients and visitors, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries; easing anxiety of patients by providing information as needed.
- Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.
- Optimizes patients’ satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone.
- Keeps patient appointments on schedule by notifying provider of patient’s arrival. Schedule and confirm patient appointments, surgeries, and consultations.
- Receive and route messages and documents to appropriate staff.
- Protects patients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information. Ensures availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records.
- Compile and record medical charts, reports, and correspondence. Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
- Prepare front desk for opening and maintain the waiting area keeping it clean and organized. Answer incoming phones with appropriate greeting.
- Greet patients as they walk into practice.
- Create and track and complete encounter forms for all patients. Ensure all charts are property prepared and available prior to day of surgery.
- File charts daily. Accept, record, process and prepare deposits and payments for the day.
- Create bank deposit slips and carecredit transactions.
- Complete cash journal receipts daily.
- Complete all front desk task before 5pm. Schedule is strictly 8-5pm and prompt arrival is required each day.
- Reliable transport and excellent work ethic.
- Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent and 3-7 years of related experience.
- Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
- Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
- Works under immediate supervision.
- Typically reports to a supervisor/office manager. If you want to work hard and with a group of people you like and respect.
Requirements:
You have (1) worked for a medical practice’s front desk for at least 4 years (2) high school certificate or equivalent (3) plus 7 years minimum of employment (4) experience with appointment setting software and Microsoft office suite (4) You are English and Spanish speaking. (5) You are reliable, well groomed, friendly, considerate and professional and have reliable transport.
Schedule: Full Time
Time: 8-5pm – Monday to Friday and Saturday 8-2pm (5 day work schedule/mileage and or bart will be paid).
