The Optometry Director is responsible for all aspects of clinic operations and takes ownership as the director in meeting all the goals, values, and vision with optometry for Azul Vision.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide oversight of practice at location; directs and oversees Optometry Clinic including budgeting, manpower, policy development, establishing procedures, and all aspects of workflow management.
• Oversees triage and treatment of urgent/acute eye care problems as established and directed by position.
• Responsible for all patient experience program activities and for answering patient complaints proactively for providers and staff assigned.
• Document history including complaint and relevant symptoms, ocular health, medication usage, medical and family history, current vision aide if applicable, and any other pertinent data
• Examine eyes using observation, pharmaceutical agents, and instruments to determine visual perception, acuity, coordination, and focus. Tests may include subjective refractions, retinoscopy, lensometry, slit lamp examination, visual fields, pupil, and mobility testing, gonioscopy, and tear function testing.
• Based on exam, diagnose diseases and anomalies such as color blindness or glaucoma.
• Clearly document diagnosis and treatment plan, including referrals, therapeutic prescriptions, and long-term medical management, in patient's charts.
• Maintain communication with ophthalmology, optical and support staff to optimize quality clinical care and service.
• Provide any necessary low-vision rehabilitation and vision therapy to improve visual issues.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Optometry License (Required)
• Doctorate (Preferred)

At least 5 years Optometry Clinical experience with at least 1 year as acting director

REQUIREMENT:
