Mechanical Design Engineer

Compensation: $50K - $100K Salary (Based on experience)
Job Summary:
Go Fast Manufacturing designs and manufactures machinery, primarily for the sawmill and pallet industries. We supply circle saws, bandsaws, conveyors, packaging equipment, racks, spare parts, and more. This position requires a base knowledge of pneumatic, electrical, and hydraulics. A successful candidate will have the skills to use SolidWorks and create a design based on an initial concept. This position requires a high level of creativity and the ability to exercise independent judgement to create a function design that meets the project requirements. Salary based on experience.
Qualifications:
Degree in Mechanical Engineer or degree in similar field or 4 years of work experience
Must be skilled in SolidWorks or similar modeling software
Must understand mechanics and be familiar with common mechanical parts (bearings, chains, belts, pneumatics, hydraulics)
Must be mechanically inclined and be able to assist with prototype assemblies when needed
Knowledge of welding and machining processes
Understanding of GD&T tolerances related to product design and assembly requirements
Will be expected to assist with and perform the following Duties:
Revise parts and drawings inside solidworks per shop notes
Design new machine parts
Design new machinery
Learn the Go-Fast machinery and revise designs when needed
Assist in trouble shooting machinery problems in person and over the phone
Assist with identifying spare parts
Perform calculations
Source correct parts from vendors
Write/edit/revise machine manuals
Be involved in meetings and decisions with design team, customers, and suppliers
Assist with job routing of designed parts
Assist with shop questions and find solutions when there are problems with parts
Conduct Off-site visits and mill surveys when needed

Available shifts and compensation: Available shifts all days except Sundays and Saturdays. Compensation is $22.00 - $35.00/hour.
