Specialized Recruiting Group Northland & Downtown KC is currently seeking to fill a Material Supervisor position near the Liberty, MO area. Desirable candidates are able to work independently and as part of a team, with limited supervision at times, and are highly organized and hard working.
Basic Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Encourage the work force to be motivated to achieve the goals and objectives of the company
- Practice open and honest dialog with the union members when administering the UAW contract
- Resolve issues before they escalate to the grievance stage
- Practice principles that are firm, fair and consistent. Take action only after all facts are known
- Monitor, maintain and record all variables that relate to the company attendance policy in an expedient manner
- Be proactive and take responsibility to facilitate change. Work towards achieving the continuous improvement goals established by management
- Support key QOS measurables that include, but are not limited to, inventory turns and premium freight
- Implement ideas that provide favorable trends. Maintain a clean, safe and professional place for associates to work by utilizing down time or agreed upon contractual time
- Champion QMS elements assigned by the materials manager. Take the lead in implementing successful job rotations that are developed by the safety engineer and approved by the management team
Requirements:
- A high school diploma or GED with 3 years materials experience
- Must have knowledge of MRP systems
- Must be knowledgeable with computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software
- Must obtain a CDL and Forklift license
