is looking for a Marketing Specialist to join our Marketing Communication Team, located in either Houston, TX or Evansville, IN.

This seasoned marketing communication professional plays an important collaborative role working with Marketing leadership developing and implementing communication strategies, campaigns and content to grow engagement and sales of products and services, build brand preference and drive customer satisfaction.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Work with Marketing product managers and internal business partners at all levels to develop and implement customer communication strategies and tactics, campaigns and content that drive positive business results.
  • Research, write and edit marketing content for print and digital channels, including but not limited to web sites, email, social media, on/in-bill messages, videos, infographics, brochures, letters, direct mail, training materials and forms.
  • Write with a voice consistent with CenterPoint Energy’s brand identity standards, adjusting tone and style for each audience and channel. Edit content across channels to ensure overall accuracy and consistency.
  • Collaborate with creative team to recommend photos, art, graphics and design templates and storyboards that will best showcase desired messages and make content easy to consume.
  • Use software to author and publish content to digital channels, including web sites and e-mail marketing automation platform
  • Manage marketing projects, tasks and jobs using digital job tracking tools to ensure compliance with established project schedules while obtaining stakeholder approvals at various points during production.
  • Lead brainstorming sessions to generate creative ideas for new projects and share marketing best practices
  • Manage content testing and help analyze results to ensure work products meet objectives; may support other colleagues by editing and proofreading.
  • Support customer communication efforts during crisis/emergency situations; Collaborate with other CenterPoint teams during events to maintain and share situational awareness; provide support after-hours, on weekends, or during holidays as needed.


Your background includes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Advertising or Business Administration from an accredited college or university.
  • Requires a minimum 3-5 years’ writing and managing content for B-to-C and/or B-to-B audiences either at a company or with an agency.
