MARKETING DIRECTOR, Temerity Baseball
Temerity Baseball is a family-owned company that consists of two professional baseball teams in North Carolina, the Greensboro Grasshoppers and the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers. Both Class A Minor League Baseball teams are centerpieces of their respective communities and anchor current/future real estate development projects. Our staff is made up of competitive and talented team members that pour their passion for America’s Pastime and customer service into success.
Temerity Baseball is expanding its team and needs an experienced Director of Marketing to spearhead our marketing initiatives, increase revenue opportunities and increase community engagement. The ideal candidate will know how to develop and lead traditional and digital campaign strategies while also rolling up their sleeves and supporting their teams in a wide variety of ways. With both baseball and non-baseball events in each city as the major revenue generators, all team members work evenings and weekends as required by the schedule. This might look like game-day social media support, writing email copy, updating sales materials, etc.
This position currently oversees two direct reports and will mentor, train and hire additional team members as or when needed. As a pre-requisite, the ideal candidate will be located in either the Greensboro or Kannapolis/Charlotte areas and will travel between the two properties.

Reports to:
Chief Revenue Officer and Team General Managers
As an integral member of Temerity Baseball’s leadership team, you will be responsible for developing, implementing and executing strategic marketing initiatives and plans to support the overall mission and goals of Temerity Baseball.
Day-to-day tasks include management of client needs and requests, client communications, managing and coordinating tasks as needed, leading market research efforts to uncover the viability of current and existing products/services, creating and executing marketing plans, conducting research, and leading social media and ad management.
You will also be responsible for client communications, managing projects, and building a cohesive, creative, and fun marketing to develop, execute, and manage social, digital, brand, communications, and marketing strategies for Temerity Baseball and its clients. While you have a team to support you, no task is too small for any Temerity Baseball team member. There may be times when you need to step in and execute - so understanding how to execute is critical to this role.

Requirements
  • Must have previous marketing strategy experience including campaign building, audience assessment, social media engagement, paid media management, presenting and pitching.
  • Must have experience working with CRM (knowledge of HubSpot preferred) and be comfortable with everything from data analysis to data input
  • Must be able to travel between Kannapolis and Greensboro, N.C., and live in one or the other market
  • Excellent writing skills and exemplary level of detail
  • Ability to deliver critique and develop talent
  • Expert-level knowledge of social media best practices and engagement strategies, digital communication tools, and content management systems
  • Intimate understanding of traditional and emerging marketing channels

    • Help to expand the presence of Temerity Baseball everywhere
