Marketing Coordinator (PR) Job at AnMed
I. SUMMARY OF POSITION PURPOSE
Plans, coordinates, and measures system wide public relations and communications initiatives to build awareness of and preference for the organization’s brand among internal and external audiences
II. SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary responsibilities include:
- Media Relations – Serve as primary media contact and maintain key relationships; Select, brief & prepare appropriate spokespersons and coordinate interviews; Write press releases, backgrounders and other materials for the media; Manage crisis communications and maintain knowledge of Hospital Incident Command System (HICS); Respond to media inquiries; Pitch story ideas to proactively support AnMed Health’s brand; Monitor issues, trends, news and social media conversations and respond appropriately.
- Content Planning and Management – Plan, write and edit internal and external content for AnMed Health print and digital channels, including social media. Work with internal staff and consultants to manage all aspects of planning, production and distribution, including writing, layout, photography and/or printing.
- Event Planning and Management – Provide recommendations on sponsorship and community engagement opportunities. Plan and coordinate public announcements, speaking opportunities for key leaders, community events and sponsorships.
- Support communications for key executives, directors and physicians, as needed.
III. EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications or related field required
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in public relations or communications required; Eight years’ experience preferred
- Demonstrated writing abilities and knowledge of AP style
- Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills; project management and organizational skills; time management skills; and ability to work with executives and staff at all levels of the organization required
- Photography, videography, and/or basic layout skills preferred
- Background in or knowledge of health care preferred
