JOB TITLE: Havasu Riviera Marina Dockmaster

Salary: $45,000-$55,000 salary
REPORTS TO: General Manager and/or Owner
POSITION PURPOSE:
The Marina Dockmaster is the liaison between dock leasing, accounting, and operations. This role is critical to maintaining accurate financial records at the properties. The Marina Dockmaster provides oversight of slip leasing agreements, accounting process, and ensures that financial records are created and maintained in accordance with company policies and procedures and monitors compliance of all Corporate Policies and Procedures.
The Marina Dockmaster needs to work collaboratively with the GM. The Marina Dockmaster is responsible for organizing all Revenue and Accounts Payable data, which ends up in our accounting system and communicating reports to payroll and upper management as needed.
The Marina Dockmaster provides the highest level of customer service in a friendly, helpful manner while accurately responding to the customers’ needs. Ensures all employees project a professional company image through all types of interactions and challenges.
OPERATING RESPONSIBILITIES: Work performed and composed of a variety of different tasks, calling for the use of sound judgment; and compliance with policies and procedures. Must be a self-starter and able to work independently. Requiring excellent interpersonal skills, time management and computer literacy. Manages several projects at one time and may be interrupted frequently to meet the needs and requests of customers.
Dockmaster Responsibilities: Sets and provides the highest level of customer/guest services and expedites all requests from GM and guests.
- Daily input of customer transactions including payments, charges and new contracts
- Preparation of yearly renewal boat storage contracts
- Maintains contract files with current insurance and registration/certification information
- Monthly preparation of billing statements and/or invoices
- Posting of finance charges & electric charges
- Email/mail AR past due payment reminders
- Processing Monthly Credit Card/ACH Payments
- Liaison between property and vendor accounts, and maintenance of those accounts
- Act as back up for POS store clerk
- Assists the GM in marketing with the monthly newsletters, meetings, and data reporting for trends and needs
- The weekly processing of A/P
- Other duties as assigned by upper or senior management
Daily Responsibilities:
- Works closely with Sales, Reservations and Guest Services to develop programs to market the rental of marina slips, and to establish standard procedures for arrival, check in and for how reservations are handled.
- Ensures that established procedures are followed for marina slip reservations and that staff have had sufficient training to take the necessary reservation information and are aware of all current and future Marina promotions.
- Provide the highest level of guest service to all Mariana guests in order to maintain a loyal repeat customer base.
- Identifies and analyzes competition, both locally and regionally.
- Ensures that proper data base files of past marina guests and groups are kept so that this information can be used in future marketing programs.
- Oversees the rentals and ensures that proper use, instruction, safety and liability waivers are all followed.
- Oversees Marina retail and fuel operations and assures that all daily reports are complete and done on a timely basis.
- Ensures that all the docks, equipment, and boats are properly cleaned, maintained and stored.
- Other projects as assigned by the General Manager
Prerequisite Skills:
- Strong customer service experience, especially in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to communicate clearly and work collaboratively
- Knowledge of safe boating practices
- Experience with a POS system/Accounting Software Applications
- Current CPR/First-Aid certification
- Above average general accounting/bookkeeping skills and basic understanding of financial statements
- Must have intermediate to expert knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Must have excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Must have experience in Accounts Receivable collections and putting together customer statements
- Minimum of 1 year of data entry
- Minimum of 1-year Administrative Assistant experience
- Prefer 1 year bookkeeping experience
- Must have minimum of 1 year customer service experience
- Must be professional and able to maintain confidentiality, respectful application of PPI
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills

- Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to work flexible hours based on the needs of the property
Education
Associates or Bachelor’s in Accounting or Business or equivalent years of direct experience preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to lift, carry, push & pull up to 25 lbs with assistance. Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand & arm movements; as well as, squeezing & overhead reaching.
- Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, walk on uneven surfaces on an occasional basis
- Must be able to walk outside in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, heat) on an occasional basis
- Must be able to climb stairs, both indoors and outside in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, heat)
- Position is located at a marina; employee must be able to swim or wear a personal flotation device when on the docks I have reviewed this job description and I understand all my job duties and responsibilities.
