Molded Devices, Inc. is an established OEM manufacturer of medical devices and custom extruded tubing. Due to our continued growth, we are looking for a Manufacturing Process Engineer to join our team.
Summary
Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment. Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout. This position reports directly to the Engineering Manager.
Responsibilities
- Initiate, prioritize and drive projects to completion
- Provide engineering support for production floor
- Evaluate, assess, and provide creative solutions to improve the manufacturing process.
- Support continuous improvement, quality improvements and EHS projects
- Introduction of new products and processes to production
- Perform risk assessments, equipment qualification, process validation, and test method validation
- Coordinate the design, procurement, build and debug of tooling, machinery, and test equipment
- Ensure that manufacturing processes and equipment comply with safety standards, quality and regulatory requirements
Requirements
- Knowledge of manufacturing production and processes
- Mechanical and electrical design knowledge
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Project management experience
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and coordinate with others
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or another technical field
Preferred Qualifications
- Ideal candidates will have experience in the life sciences or medical device industry, manufacturing experience, and mechanical design exposure.
- Experience using statistical methods
- PLC programming experience
- Experience with CAD software (Solid Works)
- Experience with plastics manufacturing processes. (Injection molding, extrusion, Thermal forming, Bonding, Ultrasonic Welding, etc.)
