Manufacturing Material Handler Job at McCormick Paints
McCormick Paints is seeking a Manufacturing Material Handler in Frederick, MD to assist the Manufacturing Plant with day-to-day operations pertaining to but not limited to inbound receipts, inventory allocation, & document processing. This role is responsible for receiving / processing inbound raw materials, allocating inventory within designated locations in the facility, distributing finished goods to Distribution department storage racks, & maintaining proper inventory control of raw materials within the Manufacturing Operation.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The duties include, but are not limited to:
- Unloading trucks with raw materials using a forklift
- Allocating pallets of raw materials to their pre-designated storage locations within the facility
- Process all inbound receipts and provide administrative support of receiving process
- Move and stack materials
- Rotate floor stock
- Inventory staging of raw materials for next days production
- Use material handling equipment such as forklifts, electric pallet jacks, hand dolly.
- Assist other manufacturing plant staff when required
- Assist in routine care, cleaning and upkeep of machinery within the manufacturing operation
- Report damaged merchandise or other problems immediately to the appropriate supervisor
- Lift and move heavy boxes/bags/containers during product receiving and allocation
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school degree, or equivalent
- At least 2 years of experience in material handling environment
- At least 2 years of experience with material handling equipment (forklift, pallet jacks, etc.)
- Previous administrative responsibilities
- Must be able to read and interpret receiving documents and instruction manuals
- Strong communication skills
- The ability to work successfully in a fast-paced team environment are required
- Possess basic mathematical skills
- Attention to detail and the capacity to increase administrative support responsibilities as needed
- Ability to stand for long period of time and work in a manufacturing / warehouse environment
- Must have previous experience with material handling safety protocols
- Ability to lift and move heavy boxes, bags, & containers (up to approx. 65 lbs.)
