Individuals in this position are responsible for supporting the Financial Protection Claims Organization with regard to Long Term Disability claim management oversight. They will effectively and professionally utilize sound judgment, technical knowledge, communication skills, and resources (Claims Organization, Claim’s processes and procedures, quality assessment tool, etc.) to meet the needs of the Financial Protection Organization. Additional responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Support and coach new and existing employees with their development, create consistency, and improve quality audit results; assist in promoting the use of appropriate tools/reference material (including policies & procedures, claim workflow documents, file documentation, clinical resources, financial resources and vendor options); identify trends and training need and work with training department to ensure delivery to address needs; follow up with employees to ensure understanding of all training and new information provided to them; mentor/coach Team Leaders to the level in which this position can provide coverage for the manager as needed; address and support the needs/requests of customers and account managers and ensure team is doing the same (lead by example); complete other duties as identified by Director of Operations.
This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of (9:00am - 4:00pm) Eastern Time. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.

Primary Responsibilities:

- Demonstrate solid understanding and comfort utilizing multiple computer systems/applications, including Microsoft Office products
- Ability to make timely, confident decisions based on available data/facts
- Strong time management, organizational and prioritization skills and ability to balance multiple priorities
- Solid conflict resolution skills
- Solid understanding of organizational structure; ability to facilitate issues through appropriate channels, including how and when to involve management
- Appropriately apply policies and procedures to ensure successful compliance with internal and external guidelines
- Ability to interact professionally with all internal and external customers, including peers, members of management, members of other business areas/segments, attorneys, etc.

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED (or higher)
- 2+ years of Long-Term Disability claims management experience
- 2+ years of management experience
- Ability to work a flexible 8-hour shift between the hours of 9:00am - 4:00pm Eastern time zone
Preferred Qualifications:
- College Degree (or higher)
- Reside within Eastern time zone
Telecommuting Requirements:
- Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
- Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
- Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada or New York City Residents Only: The salary range for Connecticut / New York City residents is $90,500 - $161,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
