Overview:
Manage operational infrastructure and special project to support Intellectual Property (“IP”) law group for a fortune 200 company with some of the most iconic brands! Have a bachelor’s degree with experience in information systems or data management? If so, we want to speak with you!

We are currently seeking a Manager, Legal Systems to join our IP Law group in Richmond, VA, or we are open to remote work arrangements.

In this role you'll lead special projects to ensure data integrity of company invention and patent records, optimize workflows, and mitigate risk.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Administrator of the Law department’s IP asset management system, a software-as-a-service platform with 150 + active users. Main responsibilities include but not limited to: New user account set up & system training, Role specific permissions management and workflow configuration, including system generated messaging, user access points and task management, Mapping and execution of bulk data imports / exports as needed, Running database queries; report design & distribution, Prioritization of enhancement requests, system upgrades & special projects and Development of records management processes, procedures, and ongoing audit program.
  • Patents Case Manager working with Research and Development, IP Law, and outside counsel to facilitate and document all phases of the patent prosecution process, from invention to patent application, to patent issuance and retention.
  • System vendor manager conducting contract administration & relationship management, negotiate statements of work related to system enhancements and attending annual user conference to stay informed of industry developments and trends.
  • Collaborate with Legal Operations and Finance to support financial planning, forecasting and analysis activities on behalf of the practice group.

What we want you to have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field with 6 years of relevant experience.
  • 3+ years' experience in an Information Systems environment.
  • Working knowledge of data management and integration.
  • Familiarity with Patent or similar Information Systems applications preferred.
  • Ability to engagement, collaborate and interact with internal key partners and vendors
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
