Position Overview

The Maintenance and Facilities coordinator is responsible of mantaining equipment availability by performing timely, in-depth diagnostics and repairs. Ensures proper coordination of all installations and refurbishments for all HHFB facilities, managing the upkeep of all equipment and supplies to meet health and safety standards, and inspecting building’s structures to determine the need for repairs or renovations needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identify, manage, perform, measure, schedule and track facility repairs and preventive maintenance tasks in accordance to practice standards, including outside maintenance and upkeep of facilities
  • Receives, manages, and process work order requests; ensures problems are resolved quickly and safely
  • Source, select, hire, and manage contractors to complete all jobs within warehouses in accordance to practice standards.
  • Perform equipment preventive maintenance work. Report on repairable damage to Facilities Director.
  • Inspect, document, and report facility damages, repairs, structural conditions, and construction plan variances.
  • Maintains pest control logs and coordinates service appointments with contractors
  • Responsible for supply inventory and re-ordering as needed
  • Regularly provide clear and concise communication of repairs, projects and service work updates and deliverables to managers and field leaders.
  • Regularly inspecting and repairing trucks, trailers, and fleet vehicles.
  • Keep maintenance records and provide quarterly reports.
  • Promoting a safe working environment in all facilities by always following Safety Standards
  • Participates and contributes to the Safety Team
  • Other job duties as assigned

· Demonstrates a commitment to the HHFB mission and to fighting to end hunger in South Carolina.

· Supports a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and communicating process and safety improvements.

· Follows all safety policies and procedures, including reporting all unsafe acts and behaviors, safety hazards, incidents, or accidents immediately.

· Acknowledges that HHFB team members are considered emergency responders and may be called in to perform regular or emergent duties in instances of a federal, state or locally declared emergency.

Position Requirements

· 5 Years of Field or similar manufacturing setting experience – Managing People/Projects experience may include a combination of work experience and education

· Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician (CMRT), Electrical Technician Certification (EETC), Building Systems Maintenance Certification, or EPA HVAC Certification preferred

· Electromechanical Experience as well as ability to work particularly 480VAC and 24VDC power

· Fabrication skills, such as cutting and welding, are a plus (mig, tig or stick)

· Work assigned shift, to include overtime, up to and including Saturdays, Shutdown Days, and holidays, as needed.

· Follow all company policies and standards, company Handbook and Safety Manual.

· Must be able to navigate warehouses floor and facilities to diagnose any building and equipment/tools and facility issues and plan repairs or maintenance

· Self-Motivated and self-directed with accurate and precise attention to detail

· Computer Skills knowledge of Microsoft Suite or similar Software

· Knowledge of OSHA and other environmental regulations

· Valid driver’s license

This position is primarily set in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures, including freezers and outdoor weather conditions. This position is regularly required to sit, stand, bend, twist, carry and lift objects up to 30 to 50 pounds. With forklift traffic in the facility and product stacked and stored throughout, this position requires someone who is mobile and who can hear and watch for traffic and normal hazards of a warehouse environment. This position requires travel during the day. Occasionally, this role is required to respond to organizational needs outside of normal working hours. The position requires a fast pace and is deadline driven.
