POSITION PURPOSE/MISSION:

Perform in the skilled position and complete electrical troubleshooting and repairs tasks under supervision. Provide a safe work environment. Complete other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Frequent lifting up to 60 lbs, hand use, standing, and walking.
• Occasional climbing, lifting up to 30 lbs, reaching, and sitting.
• Minimal carrying, lifting up to 60 lbs, pushing/pulling, below waist level work, and complex neck/spinal motion.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation, as provided in detail in the Job Analysis Database.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent (GEDWorks program eligible)
• One plus years’ related experience.
• Proven mechanical/maintenance aptitude.
• Forklift operation experience.
• Ability to use basic math skills.
• Ability to read and understand instructions.
• Ability to practice good housekeeping skills, keep areas neat, clean, and orderly.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information one-on-one and to small groups.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Perform a variety of electrical installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting work to keep production and support equipment in operating condition.
• Work on installation of motor control centers, power distribution panels, lighting panels and controls on foundry equipment such as mullers, molding machines, shot blast equipment, dust collectors, melting and holding furnace, and other similar types of equipment.
• Read and understand instructions, blueprints, schematics, and parts books, etc. for installing, maintaining, repairing, rebuilding, removing, and storing equipment.
• Develop methods to utilize new technology to improve process control, improve quality, reduce downtime, and decrease set-up time.
• Check stock for parts prior to starting a task.
• Use material handling equipment when performing certain electrical maintenance work; operate a forklift truck for transporting equipment and lifting employees; use specialized power equipment for pulling cable and wire.
• Use meters and other test instruments when troubleshooting electrical equipment.
• Follow all plant safety rules; know how to lock out all plant equipment so that it is safe to work on; use safety equipment appropriate for the job, be aware of the safety of others.
• Follow Environmental, Quality and Safety Management System procedures and requirements.
• Ability to meet the essential job requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation, as outlined in the job description.

Pay: $29.00 - $36.00 per hour
