Machine Maintenance Mechanic- 3rd Shift

Summary: Responsible for performing the following duties:

1. Adjust machine knitting mechanisms, tensions, and speeds to produce specified products.

2. Install, level, and align machine components such as gears, chains, guides, dies, cutters, and/or needles to set up machinery for operation.

3. Operate machines for test runs to verify adjustments and to obtain product samples.

4. Start machines, monitor operations and make adjustments as needed.

5. Stop machines when specified quantity of product has been produced.

6. Examine equipment to determine causes of stoppage, such as product feed or mechanical defects.

7. Inspect machinery to determine root cause of issues and whether repairs are needed.

8. Program electronic equipment.

9. Record information and maintain records about work completed and machine settings*******

10. Repair or replace defective needles and other components, using hand tools.

11. Assist Knitters by picking up socks and make changes as needed.

12. Take responsibility of all production assigned and produced by you.

Qualifications:

Language Ability:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate with other co-workers. Ability to read and comprehend production ticket.

Math Ability:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts (basic math skills)

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills: Ability to utilize computer software relevant to knitting.

Education/Experience:

Prior knitting experience preferred but not required.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Certificates and Licenses: No certificates are required for this position.

Knowledge, Skills, and Other Abilities:

· Oral and written communication skills

· Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

· Ability to assist knitters
