Associated Materials is in need of a reliable and dependable Logistics Administrator to join our team of professionals.
This position will report directly to the Logistics Manager and will coordinate with many other departments to ensure an efficient daily workflow for both Inbound and Outbound shipments. The candidate will work with the Logistics Team, dedicated 3PL provider, and other 3rd party carriers within the network and provide support for tactical and functional execution of business strategies. The candidate must be willing and able to take on tasks and assignments that might be otherwise outside of their normal job description.
OBJECTIVES:
- Support the development, procurement and sustainability of a service provider network to meet and exceed the requirements of our customer base.
- Partner with Transportation provider to drive compliance with a Core Carrier routing strategy, while managing transportation cost, quality and service to expected levels.
- Provide continuous operational improvement by ensuring contracted carriers deliver required and committed service levels.
- Create, implement, and manage Key Performance Indicators to ensure timely and appropriate business decisions are made across the network.
- Ensure data accuracy for standardized, ongoing and ad hoc analytical reporting used to create insights in the areas of parcel, LTL and TL transportation.
- Prepare scheduled reports on operational and financial performance.
- Ensure timely implementation and communications resulting from all rate, capacity and carrier assignment negotiations to required business partners.
- Audit and ensure timeliness of rates and payments in line with negotiated carrier rates.
DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee the daily transportation metrics across multiple locations, including but not limited to; cube utilization and On Time Delivery.
- Ensure timeliness of payments to carrier base.
- Monitor integrity of data and update when needed.
- Assist in the development of metrics to track, analyze and report annual budget performance.
- Communicate information to relevant stakeholders when necessarily to enable supply chain visibility or facilitate change management.

- 2+ years of logistics/transportation experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain, Operations Management or another Business-related field.
- Manufacturing experience preferred
- Vendor management/qualification experience required
- Knowledge of logistics software or transport management systems
- Experience with freight payment utilizing third party freight payment systems and GL coding
- Strong leadership and communication skills with a team-first mentality.
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
Advanced Level skills in Microsoft Excel required (formulas, pivot tables and charts, custom functions, data analysis); Proficiency in other Microsoft Office programs (including Access, PowerPoint and Power BI)
