RMI International is growing rapidly and is searching for experienced candidates for the position of locksmith. We appreciate you taking the time to review the list of qualifications and to apply for the position. Responsibilities

· Manage materials, parts, and equipment, including inventory tracking, record keeping, product research, and supply procurement

· Repairs locks by adjusting or replacing working or broken parts

· Designs and installs special locks for security purposes

· Plans and installs master key systems for site and office areas

· Sets up and operates key duplicating and making machines

· Maintains records of key assignments and locks for buildings

· Maintains a variety of locks and locking devices

· Disassembles door locks and repairs or replaces worn tumblers, springs, and other parts

· Assist in repairs on wood and metal doors and door frames

· Assist in making keys

Qualifications

· Completion of a recognized apprenticeship or vocational program for a locksmith

· Requires the ability to define problems, collect and analyze data, establish facts, and propose solutions

· Must exercise sound judgment and make decisions independently

· Requires competent computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint

· Must be able to handle multiple tasks and details in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

· Must have a high school diploma or equivalent with at least 1 year of related work experience

· Must be able to lift 50 pounds daily

· Must be able to communicate, both written and verbally, in English

· Must be able to stoop, bend, pull, and kneel throughout the workday

· 1 year or more of work experience in a university or facilities setting is a plus

· Requires extreme flexibility, with the ability to work through stressful situations in a professional manner

· Cut keys

· Maintain accurate records of lock and key installation and maintains lock cylinder system as designed to facilitate the use of master keys

· Responsible for maintaining and managing an inventory of all parts and equipment required for his/her area and for maintaining adequate security on sensitive items
