Description:

Provide a full array of individual, group and family rehabilitative services to persons adversely affected by chemical abuse or dependency in a residential setting.

Shift/Hours: Full-Time - Monday-Friday 8am-4:30 (rotation od evening shifts and weekend shifts will be included)

Essential Job Functions:

  • Apply master level MSW, MHC or MFT theory, principles and methods to prevent, assess, evaluate, formulate and implement a plan of action based on client needs and strengths
  • Carry a caseload of up to 2 clients
  • Intervene to address mental, social, emotional, behavioral, developmental, and addictive disorders, conditions and disabilities, and of the psychosocial aspects of illness and injury experienced by individuals, couples, families, groups, communities, organizations and society
  • Engage in the administration of tests and measures of psychosocial functioning, provide client advocacy, case management, counseling, consultation, research, administration and management, and teaching
  • Provide comprehensive mental health screenings and initial assessments
  • Diagnose mental, emotional, behavioral, addictive and developmental disorders and disabilities
  • Administer and interpret tests and measures of psychosocial functioning, social work advocacy, case management, counseling, consultation, research, administration and management and teaching
  • Provide crisis intervention as needed
  • Provide structured, evidence-based psychotherapy as part of an appropriate treatment plan
  • Conducts individual, group, and mental health counseling
  • Perform outreach family services and attend home visits as needed.
  • Work with the psychiatric prescriber to help provide appropriate psychiatric services.
  • Develop and implement Treatment Plan along with the Clinical Treatment Team.
  • Aid in the development and implementation the Family component of treatment, including classes, genograms, and other techniques as needed.
  • Update patient and family files according to policy and regulations.
  • Provide appropriate Discharge Plans and Referrals as necessary.
  • Exercise knowledge of and teach good nutrition, good physical and mental health practices.
  • Engage residents in the development of a full range of Independent Living Skill activities.
  • Supervise and participate with residents during recreational, vocational and educational activities.
  • Supervise residents in performance and completion of daily chores and responsibilities.
  • Maintain and demonstrate cooking and baking skills and supervise residents in cooking chores.
  • Safeguard and monitor all residents’ medication and valuables.
  • Transport residents to appointments and activities as needed.
  • Ensure the delivery of prompt medical attention in cases of illness or accident, report any such incidents to a Supervisor/Director, complete untoward incident reports and documentation as required. Utilize the On-call system as needed.
  • Refer emergency calls and clients to the appropriate community agencies.
  • Participate in clinical supervision at least bi-weekly.

Requirements:

Minimum Job Qualifications:

Must be a New York State Licensed Master Social Worker

And

Have at least one year of Clinical Family experience

And

Experience in the Chemical Dependency field and with adolescents

And

Support the goal of recovery based on the client’s personal understanding of their recovery goals

And

Must subscribe to a Professional Canon of Ethics

Other Job Requirements:

Must maintain a valid Drivers License, as specified in the personnel policies.

Must comply with all laws and policies concerning confidentiality, security, and client rights as specified in the employee manual, and 42 CFR Part 2 and HIPAA.

Must maintain current certification and/or training in CPR and First Aid, and any other areas specified by state law and agency regulation.
