Litigation Assistant: Secretary Job at Lorber, Greenfield & Polito, LLP

We are looking for a skilled litigation secretary who has recent experience handling lit secretarial work like e-filings, drafting letters, calendaring, etc. You will be responsible for the coordination of all the details before, during and after trial. The successful candidate will be able to provide assistance to a senior partner and associates during all phases of the litigation process including editing and filing correspondence, pleadings, etc. Full working knowledge of Oregon court rules is mandatory. Microsoft suite software expertise is required. You will be required to work from the office on occasion, but it is also a remote position as well.

Responsibilities

  • Draft pleadings, motions and appellate documents and file them with the court
  • Perform administrative duties (calendar hearings and deadlines, organize case files, manage logistics etc)
  • Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes
  • Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs and appendices
  • Aid attorneys with interrogatories and other discovery requests
  • Misc. administrative tasks that may be needed from time to time to assist Sr. partner

Skills

  • Proven working experience as a litigation secretary
  • Applicable knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules and procedures, practices etc
  • Highly organized with ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong writing and communication skills along with attention to detail
  • Extensive computer and database expertise
  • Paralegal associates degree or other relevant certification

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
