LENA is a game changer in early childhood. Research shows that back-and-forth interaction (conversational turns) between children and their adult caregivers in the earliest years is a key to school readiness and long-term outcomes. We integrate our patented “talk pedometer” technology into innovative programs to increase capacity of parents, caregivers, and educators in accelerating children’s language development, school readiness, and social-emotional health.

We are seeking an individual who is well versed with scripting languages in a Linux environment to support our technology developments and testing, completing comparative data analysis of sensor output. In this role, you would work with our engineering team to develop scripts in a Linux environment, test algorithm performance and quantify output data, and maintain a database to track progress throughout the various development stages, thereby guiding ongoing and future development. This role works directly with and reports to the Head of Technology Innovation. The work is fast paced, exciting, and requires great attention.

Qualifications:

• BS in a technical field such as engineering, computer science, applied Math or applied Physics with strong analytical skills.
• Strong programming skills and extensive experience developing Python and shell scripts under a Linux-based environment.
• Experience developing/maintaining databases to track experiments and related information.
• Experience with C/C++ and algorithmic development are desirable.
• Home office setup with excellent internet connectivity.
• Based in the continental U.S.
