Job Title: Life Enrichment Manager


Department: Nursing


Reports To: Director of Nursing


Licensure: Certified as an Activity Director through the National Certification Council of Activity Professionals or Activity Director Certified (ADC) through the National Certification Council for Activity Professionals (NCCAP) or Activity Professional - Board Certified (AP-BC) by the National Association of Activity Professionals Credentialing Center. Certified as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) by the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC) preferred.


Classification: Full Time (1.0)

Typically, Monday - Friday, 6:30am - 3:00pm but will require occasional evenings and weekends.


Experience: Three years of experience in a supervisory or management position is preferred.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


  • Must have knowledge of supervisory principles, practices and techniques.
  • Must be able to work cooperatively, communicate effectively, and make good, sound decisions independently.
  • Must know how to care for equipment and be alert to hazards.
  • Must possess knowledge in administration of alarm systems.
  • Must be familiar with codes and standards related to the healthcare and or hospitality environment.
  • All job duties are expected to be completed in accordance with the mission and values of the Daughters of Charity.


Summary of Duties:

The Life Enrichment Manager provides strategic vision, direction, coordination, and continuity for all life enrichment and wellness programming throughout the campus. Life Enrichment enhances the Sisters' experiences by providing personalized options that help Sisters achieve the fullest life possible. This team is an important and crucial link in ensuring that our Sisters have programming which supports memory care while validating and enhancing their quality of life. The Life Enrichment Manager directs the Life Enrichment Coordinators in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of recreational programs for the Sisters. The Life Enrichment Manager achieves this by working directly with life enrichment staff members to assist in personalized programming to ensure a coordinated and effective engagement process. Ultimately, the Life Enrichment Manager will serve as the visionary leader who will establish and maintain a life enrichment culture that moves away from "calendar" driven programming to an enriching person-centered experience.
