Position Purpose: Primary Therapist
The Primary Therapist provides individual, group, and family counseling to clients with substance use and/or co-occurring mental health diagnosis. Completes level of care assessments for new clients upon admission and works collaboratively with the treatment team to ensure client’s treatment goals are being met.
Responsibilities
· Facilitate daily groups focused on substance use and mental health
· Maintain open communication with all members of the treatment team
· Provide individual counseling for all clients on your caseload
· Facilitate family counseling sessions
· Complete clinical documentation within 24 hours
· Participate in team meetings (daily) and individual and group supervision (weekly)
· Report to the Clinical Director for all emergencies and/or concerns.
· Complete SUD and Mental Health treatment plans and reviews for all clients based on the client’s level of care.
· Participate in family program that we offer the clients that we treat.
· Complete all documentation according to the internal company and licensing agencies policies.
· Submit concurrent reviews to the Utilization Department based on the scheduled produced by the Utilization Department.
· Complete biopsychosocial assessments on incoming clients to determine appropriate level of care
· If applicable, ensure that your license to practice remains active.
· Must follow all defined company policies outlined in the Employee Handbook.
· Must adhere to the professional code of ethics as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
Desired Qualifications
· Master’s or bachelor’s degree in human services preferred or relatable work experience
· 3+ years’ experience in substance use treatment
· Ability to work as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment
· State License (LADC, MLADC, LCMHC, LICSW, LMFT,) or license eligible.
