Summary
Job Summary
Provides direct patient care under the direction of a registered nurse, nurse practitioner, physician assistant, or physician. Training is provided relevant to the population served, based on scope of care of the service assignment.
Job Responsibilities
- Contributes to the assessment of patients by collecting data for review.
- Administers medications and observes patients for adverse reactions.
- Performs plan of care interventions.
- Evaluates learning needs of patients and families and provides education based on age, culture, and willingness to learn.
- Performs job duties in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act.
Qualifications
- High school diploma, General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or higher required upon hire AND
- Associate's degree or higher in Nursing required within 5 years of employment in this position
- None
- No experience required
- LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse and eligible to practice in the state of Kentucky required upon hire AND
- BLS - Certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required within 45 days of employment in this position AND
- RN - Licensed as a Registered Nurse. Eligible to practice nursing in the State of Kentucky required within 60 months of employment in this position
