About the Helpdesk Technician
As the Helpdesk Technician you’ll be responsible for answering help desk calls, emails and e-ticket requests. Identifies and troubleshoots hardware, software and network issues and provides resolution. Assists the IT department with various IT initiatives and communications. Key responsibilities include:
- Identifies and diagnoses problems for personal computer software, PC hardware, various networks, printers, Internet connections and technology; communicates solutions to end users.
- Answers, screens and refers telephones call to appropriate locations.
- Maintains the Help Desk e-ticket system and various IT requests by ensuring that IT staff has completed assignments by the designated completion dates.
- Assists in the set up and configuration of PC desktop hardware, software and peripherals.
- Assists management with the maintenance of critical systems.
- Ability to train helpdesk technicians on advanced systems
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For (Nobody's Perfect, but Experience is a Plus!)
- One year of help desk or technical support experience required.
- High school diploma or equivalent. Experience and education may be substituted for one another.
- A+ Certification, Network + Certification Basic Unix/Linux and/or Active Directory in Windows domain experience preferred.
- Knowledge in PC operation, troubleshooting, hardware and software.
- Knowledge of Windows operating systems.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Skill in interpersonal and written communication.
- Ability to identify, troubleshoot and resolve technical computer-related issues.
- Ability to handle calls and e-mails from internal and external clients in a professional manner.
- Ability to accurately compile data and perform detailed work.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to maintain regular attendance.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of material and information.
- Ability to maintain professional appearance and demeanor.
- Ability to lift/carry up to 25lbs.
- Occasional travel between offices.
- Ability to work as a member of a team.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for 80% of the time.
- Must use close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal and expansive reading.
- Must be able to lift or move items up to 25lbs.
- Must have the ability to move files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.
