This position will assist with the implementation and sustainment of the RBS (Regal Rexnord Business System) at Ameridrives. The RBS leader will support a variety of continuous improvement efforts throughout the plant. The RBS leader will manage projects/initiatives involving efficiency gains, quality improvement and potential cost savings. The RBS leader will lead Kaizen events in Erie and may support larger Regal Rexnord events.

The RBS leader will apply the Regal Rexnord Business System principles and tools to ensure Ameridrives is efficient and effective in the delivery of quality, on-time products while improving client and employee satisfaction. The RBS leader will be responsible for coaching others to learn and apply ABS principles and tools into their daily activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Implement RBS principles to improve quality, on-time delivery, and reduce operating costs and inventory.
  • Lead projects, using the RBS principles and tools, and works with teams to effectively, initiate, plan, execute, monitor and close projects.
  • Act as a change agent in challenging existing approaches and performance.
  • Support the development and implementation of the business strategy and ensure it is closely linked with the strategic priorities of the business.
  • Actively communicate with team members, staff members, and Ameridrives/Regal Rexnord leadership.
  • Facilitates Kaizen events and other improvement events to help teams quickly achieve objectives.
  • Work with Ameridrives team to identify and prioritize continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Trains and coaches other employees on the RBS principles and tools.
  • Contributes toward building a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Maintain and improve lean knowledge through continuous education.

Job Requirements:

  • Deep and broad knowledge of lean/TPS principles and tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully implement lean/TPS principles within low volume, high mix manufacturing environments and in office processes.

  • Effective and collaborative problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivation, drive, energy, and resilience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: positive, persuasive, motivating.
  • Demonstrated talent for building effective relationships with individuals at all levels in the organization.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • BS degree in accredited engineering, physical sciences, or business program.
  • 5+ years experience required in a manufacturing environment including demonstrated success in implementing Lean/TPS initiatives over a broad spectrum of processes.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; Visio preferred
  • Formal training in continuous improvement methodologies desired
  • MBA or MS preferred
